Advance™ Shot Sleeves
The shot sleeve, or cold chamber, is a critical element of the aluminum die casting process. Differing internal sleeve temperatures cause distortion due to uneven expansion and ultimately leading to premature wear, inconsistent shot velocity, and more down-time.
Adherence to proper steel and heat treatment specifications, along with high-quality machining practices minimizes deformation and enhances the sleeves durability and resistance to wear. Coatings, including Nitriding, that can withstand the demands of this heat zone are a good solution for lubricity and correct micro-finish of mating surfaces improve sleeve life.
Advance™ uses NADCA approved H13 steel, follows strict heat treatment procedures, and has the years of manufacturing experience that ensures high tolerance parameters that meet your requirements. Combined with our Advance™ Plunger Rod and Tip, our sleeves will give you the ultimate advantage in to improve your die casting operation. Proper lubrication of the plunger tip in the shot sleeve is imperative to a long-running cold chamber.
